Big Cottonwood Canyon

Located 10 minutes south and east of Salt Lake City

                     

Dog Wood



      Dogwood is the first wall located at the mouth of the canyon on the south side. There is a picnic area that you must walk through to get to the wall. Park on the highway and walk in so you don't have to pay the attendant. Walk through the picnic ground to the back and follow the trail that leads up on the hill to access the top of the wall. Here you will find extremely smooth quartzite polished by the river. The climbing is tougher than it looks.
