Wasatch Front Rock Climbing Routes
Big Cottonwood Canyon
Located 10 minutes south and east
of Salt Lake City

Big Cottonwood Canyon
is only minutes from Salt Lake City. This canyon has some of the
oldest climbing routes in Utah's history dating back to the late 1960's.
There are many routes that require using cams and other removable forms
of protection to climb. Some routes are located very close to the river
and can only be climbed in the fall when the river level is lower. The
rock is mostly quartzite and the climbing is mostly ledges and crimpers.
Some of the best walls in the canyon are Aquaduct, Narcolepsy,
Penitentiary Wall, JHCOB Wall, S Curve Wall, and Standard Ridge.

"..... and the climbing in Lamoille Canyon is as good
as it gets! There are routes that are very similar those found on
Yosemite and Joshua Tree."
